Cenergy International Services, a Houston-based staffing firm that targets professionals in the oil and gas industry globally, has merged with South Carolina-based HKA Enterprises, a staffing firm that specializes in engineering, technical and other skilled craft.
The combined company will take a new name, Cenergy Partners, and will be headquartered in Houston. Cenergy Partners will have offices on three continents.
Talks of a merger between the two companies have been ongoing for roughly a year, according to Cenergy spokesperson Laura Long. Combined 2016 revenues are estimated to be right at $450 million, said Long.
The new company will have roughly 2,500 employees, said Long
In May, Cenergy and Ressler ranked No. 10 on a national list of the 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies put out by the Women Presidents’ Organization and American Express, both based in New York.
Cenergy grew its revenue from $99 million in 2010 to $258 million in 2014 and more than tripled its employee count.
In December, Ressler presented at an industry gathering in Houston, predicting that industry veterans let loose by the downturn in oil prices will come back into hot demand once the market recovers.
Cenergy isn't the only energy staffing firm to team up with an out-of-towner. On Jan. 26, Swift Worldwide Resources told the Houston Business Journal that it was merging with U.K.-based Air Energi to create Airswift Holdings Ltd.
