Blog Post created by sara.marchionda on Dec 5, 2016
Jos KrijnenCongratulations to our October WorkforceNEXT Energy HR Pro of the Month winner, Jos Krijnen! With over 25 years of Senior HR experience, Jos has been in his role as Vice President Human Resources, North America Operations at Schneider Electric since December 2015. He currently oversees all aspects of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations policies, practices and operations. We asked Jos a few questions to help our community get to know him better, see what motivates him, and showcase why he was selected for this award.

Q: What do you consider your most important professional accomplishment?
A: I really enjoy developing HR talent in my teams. Seeing HR talent being promoted to larger roles and being challenged on a daily base makes me proud as a HR leader. I'm 25 years in HR and still in touch with many HRM's who worked for me in the past. I see that as a big accomplishment.

Q: After a hard day's...or week's...or month's work, what do you do to relax, destress, and revitalize?
A: I have been in roles over the last years where traveling for business was a big part of my activity. You can imagine I really enjoy just being home! Being home I really want to relax, walk the dog together with my wife, play some golf and listen to music.

Q: What's the most difficult obstacle you've overcome?
A: During the last 12 years of my career, we moved to 5 different countries with my family between Europe and the US. All places I lived and worked were so different from a cultural perspective and HR practice. Regardless, working for the same company, I had to adjust to these specifics. Really a great and rich experience but not always easy.

Q: Share something unique about yourself.
A: I'm a passionate HR professional who enjoys helping organizations, leadership and employees be successful. Very proud of my family and enjoying to see my children being successful students at college.

Jos holds a MBA from the University of Derby, UK and an HR degree from the Hogeschool in Breda, Netherlands. He speaks Dutch, English and German.
