The monthly heartbeat of the Houston startup world missed a month in May but made up for it with a beyond-packed house and amazing pitches in June. Come out to see another batch of four, fresh local startups pitch their hearts out!

The Iron Yard's Demo Day & Coder Camp's Job Fair

Friday, July 24th & Thursday, July 23rd

Houston's two amazing code bootcamps, turning out talented new developers into our growing ecosystem are having back-to-back demo days where you can meet their graduates (and hire them!). They are two separate links and just so there's no confusion: Coder Camps is on the Thursday and The Iron Yard is on Friday.

Brews, Bites & Business
Friday, July 31st
Level Office Houston, a recently opened co-working and private office space, is throwing a Summer shindig for the startup community. An easy way to see what the new space is like, get fed at the same time. It's mid-day so you can stop by there and still make it to The PlatformIt Show!

The PlatformIt Show
Friday, July 31st
In the evening, after Brews, Bites & Business, Episode Four of PlatformIt's unique entrepreneurship panel-interview-plus-cocktail-party show promises to have equally amazing content as the last, but this time the topic will be legal matters facing young businesses. Or as they put it: "Legalizing Business"! The panelists and other details are being revealed on their Facebook page, and the RSVP link is here on eventbrite.

From the good folks over at Enventure comes this a talk by Gray Hancock on all sorts of funding: dilutive, non-dilutive, and the termsheets that go with them.

The Bayou Startup Showcase

It's back in bla--well, red and blue actually! RED Labs and OwlSpark, accelerator programs from the University of Houston and Rice University joined forces for the first time in Summer 2014, and they've been at it again this year. I normally list events in chronological order but this one is so awesome it just had to get your attention first.

Next month's fireside chat at Startup Grind is will feature the founder of Apto, and how they brought an industry used to antiquated tech and tools (real estate brokerages), kicking and screaming into a new digital era.
